Innkeeper's Collection Alderley Edge

We recently celebrated our wedding reception at The Merlin in Alderley Edge, using the Asahi Cube — and everything exceeded our expectations. The venue itself is stunning, with a beautiful setting that's perfect for a celebration. Our hotel rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. But what truly made our experience exceptional was the service we received from the staff. A special thank you to: Martin – From looking after our stay and arranging a late breakfast, to keeping things spotless and ensuring everything ran smoothly — thank you for going above and beyond. Scott – An outstanding server during the reception, who handled even last-minute requests without delay. James – Incredibly helpful, assisting with heavy lifting and going out of his way to help us when we needed it most. Jemma – Thank you for your support and attentiveness. Brad – Friendly and efficient at reception. Jackie – A wonderful housekeeper who ensured our rooms were immaculate. Every single staff member played a role in making our stay so enjoyable and stress-free. We’re so grateful to have chosen The Merlin for our big day. The place is beautiful,from the setting to the bar/restaurant to the room (super comfy bed:) . The breakfast was delicious, as were the 2 dishes we had as an evening snack. And we all agreed the staff we encountered from check in/out and the bar/breakfast were very friendly and helpful, it felt like personal care. The whole experience felt like a treat!

Our stay at the Merlin, Alderley Edge was excellent from start to finish. Prior to our stay we were contacted by the hotel and informed that there was not hot water due to a burst pipe. We were given the option to cancel but we decided to go with our booking. Price of room was adjusted to reflect inconvenience of no hot water. Room was clean, warm and had all facilities we needed. Comfortable bed. Location was lovely and near to Alderley Edge shops. We booked the wine and dine menu and the food and staff were amazing. Megan, Jemma and Brad served us our food and drinks and were all so friendly, polite and professional. Thanks also to Gary who welcomed us upon arrival - all the staff were excellent. Breakfast was delicious. Overall - a very, very nice stay - thank you !

Customer service great, each member of staff went above and beyond to help make our stay great. From Getting our room ready early to the chefs and waiters making sure our food orders would be safe for our my childern as they have food allergies. Absolutely brilliant. Only thing about the room is the lighting is not great, very dark in the room and cold. The heating was not working but we have and electric heater but it didn't do the job this is room 12. Despite this the people running the hotel are amazing every member of staff. And for that reason we will keep coming back here. This is our second stay here . Its a brilliant location easy to get in to Manchester about 25mins and perfect for a hike in the peak district about 40mins away. Staff are so lovely here, they got our room ready earlier than expected. Waiting staff that went above and beyond to make for our food was allergy safe. The chefs accommodated for the different food allergies with such lovely food not compromised by taste on every dish with food allergies. It is hard for us to find a place that I can say I would trust with my food for my children but ill be back just because I can actually relax and trust the team with this . Im so impressed with every detail from thinking about ice and glasses to the pizza cutter to prevent risk. And im sure there is more that went on in the kitchen that couldn't see to could not see, to make sure the food was safe. Im truly grateful. Thank u. You should be teaching other hotels/restaurants about helping customers with food allergies. Well done. by the way if your having breakfast u must try the Toasted french Briochel its so delicious

We needed accommodation near to Tatton Park. This was perfect. Easy to get to, lots of parking and a quiet location. The hotel was nicely decorated, clean and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a family room which had a huge bed. We were all very comfortable and had a great night's sleep

I received a warm welcome upon check in. My room was spacious, clean & warm (except the bathroom which was freezing!) The bed was comfortable. The floorboards were very creaky and this extended into the corridor and other rooms too, I could hear people moving around a lot. Staff were lovely and friendly upon check out too.

From the moment we arrived, she was polite, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Her accommodating nature and willingness to go above and beyond made our stay truly enjoyable. What stood out the most was how effortlessly she balanced professionalism with warmth, making us feel valued and well taken care of. No request was too much trouble, and her attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our stay was smooth and comfortable. Because of Vicki, I will wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Merlin Innkeepers. Excellent service makes all the difference, and she exemplifies what true hospitality should be.
